Last February, Iris held an event celebrating the achievements of women in the Darden i.Lab program, whose focus is to provide education and support for new entrepreneurs. We were so thrilled with the dialogues at the event and the feedback we received, that we wished to host another similar event in order to continue conversations between women about the rewards and challenges of working in a male-dominated field.

This April, we're turning the conversation toward the STEM field. We hope to facilitate a conversation between students, professors at the University of Virginia, and women working in the Charlottesville area about their experiences. U.Va. CHARGE Program Director Pam Norris, Tech Girls founder Kim Wilkens, and Amy LaViers, Assistant Professor in Systems and Information Engineering at U.Va., are set to speak, along with other esteemed guests who wish to engage with U.Va. students.

Interested in attending? Here are the details:
Date: April 1, 2015
Time: 4-6 p.m.
Location: Commonwealth Room in Newcomb Hall at U.Va.
Please RSVP to Agnes Filipowski at [email protected]
The event is co-sponsored with the Maxine Platzer Lynn Women's Center and the U.Va. Parents Committee
