Every week brings something new, interesting, and exciting. Let us fill you in on what’s been happening in and out of the Women’s Center.

1. As students, faculty and staff from across Grounds are pledging this week to #LivetheGreenDot, UVA’s implementation of bystander intervention is among those mentioned in the Huffington Post’s coverage of such initiatives at colleges across the country.

2. It’s recruitment season! Applications for our internship and mentoring programs are open. Check those deadlines (which vary by program) and apply away!

3. UVA students celebrated World Hijab Day all this week. Allyson Cartwright talked with organizers of the event and students who participated to learn more about concerns students had about the event.

4. Carol Gullo-Jenne, retired LCSW, talks brain plasticity and how we are able to forge new paths for our brains to follow as we find ourselves faced with stressful situations.

5. Professor Salvador Vidal-Ortiz will be giving an author talk on Thursday, February 11 about “Queer Brown Voices” which documents the efforts of LGBT Latina/o activists.
