After reading through many applications and completing initial interviews, the Maxine Platzer Lynn Women Center’s Director Search committee is pleased to announce that 3 candidates for the Women Center’s Director position will be visiting UVA this spring.

Each of the candidates will discuss, “The Role of a Women’s Center in a Public University” as part of a public presentation, spend time with Women’s Center staff, and meet with students at the Women’s Center.

Our second candidate, Danielle Hussey, is scheduled to visit UVA on Wednesday, April 20. We invite everyone to listen to her presentation at 3:30pm in the South Meeting Room in Newcomb Hall. Again, this presentation is free and open to the public. Following her presentation, students will have the opportunity to get to know Danielle over pizza at the Women’s Center from 4:45-6:00pm. We encourage everyone to attend her presentation or stop by the Women’s Center that evening so that we can give her a warm welcome from the community surrounding the Women’s Center.

We want to thank everyone who has been involved in and followed the progress of the search for the Women’s Center’s next Director following last year’s retirement of Sharon Davie who founded the Women’s Center and served as its Director for 25 years. We look forward to meeting all of the candidates and encourage everyone to find the time to meet them as well.
