Body Positive Coordinator, Nora Arkin, receives Richard Abidin Award for Excellence in Research
The Abidin Awards were established in honor of Dr. Richard R. Abidin Jr., retired Curry School faculty member and former Director of Programs in Clinical and School Psychology. Last week, our Body Positive Coordinator, Nora Arkin, was awarded the Abidin Award for Excellence in Research. This award is given to a student studying clinical and school psychology for their outstanding research contributions to the program.
Nora is currently conducting research on The Body Project, a researched intervention that is aimed at helping young women improve their body image. She is looking closely at the ways participants describe and make meaning of their intervention experience and perceived impact. We look forward to learning more about her findings at the conclusion of her research.
