Announcing Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position in LGBTQ Studies, University of Virginia, Women, Gender & Sexuality Program
The University of Virginia Arts & Sciences Women Gender & Sexuality Program invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. We seek candidates dedicated to our mission and passionate about teaching in a world class institution.
Candidates are sought who teach and conduct research in the general area of LGBTQ Studies. Field of specialization within LGBTQ Studies is open, but candidates in any area of LGBTQ health, especially those who work from a global perspective and/or in relation to race and ethnicity are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates from other areas of the humanities and social sciences are also welcome.
In addition to developing external funding to support research endeavors, candidates will be expected to teach and provide service to the University, WGS Program, and professional organizations.
Review of applications will begin on October 15, 2016. The appointment begins with the fall term of 2017, with an anticipated start date of July 25, 2017. Applicants must be on track to receive a Ph.D. in the relevant field by June 2017 and must hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment.
