Melissa Levy obtained her Ph.D. through the Curry School and became influential in creating the Youth and Social Innovation major, which she now teaches in. Levy also collaborates with the Women’s Center on the Young Women Leaders Program (YWLP).

Anda Webb has been working for the University of Virginia since 1987. As vice provost for administration and chief of staff, she oversees an annual total of more than $400 million in budgets for the University’s schools and academic centers. In her prior role as associate dean in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Webb was responsible for creating the University’s first part-time degree program for adult students.

A student recently came to Anne Coughlin with a question.
He was struggling to come to terms with a sexual harassment allegation that had been leveled against his grandfather over something that happened decades ago. His grandfather was a distinguished lawyer and public servant who was now in his 80’s. The student was heartbroken.
How should he think about his grandfather whom he admired so much in light of the allegation?

UVA alumna Sarah Lawson serves as the Assistant Director of the Center for the Book at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, and works on one of our favorite Charlottesville and UVA traditions: Virginia Festival of the Book. During her time as a student at the University, she interned for Iris, which she says helped spark her interest in publishing and design.
1) When did you attend UVA? What did you study?
I attended UVA as an undergraduate between 2002 and 2006, graduating with a bachelor's in Media Studies.
