The Women’s Center Volunteer Corps is a new initiative here at the Center! The Corps is a program committed to the following:

  • Connecting UVA students with resources available at the Women’s Center to help students become aware of gender equity issues both on Grounds and in the global community
  • Broadening Women’s Center outreach and its message through wider student body inclusivity.

Corps members actively participate in and promote Women’s Center events–such as Survivor Support Network Training, Reflections, the Zintl Award, National Girls and Women in Sports Day, etc. In order to amplify our reach, Corps members are asked to follow our social media channels and actively engage with our posts. Corps members also selflessly commit to service work at the Center by partnering with interns and staff to complete annual projects. Lastly, Corps members serve as advocates for change within the University community.

Stay tuned for more information about signing up for the 2016-2017 academic year. There will be a training session for volunteers soon after the sign up deadline. If you have any questions, please reach out to our coordinator, Patricia O’Donnell at pao2bb@virginia.edu.

Tentatively, there will also be some summer service projects. If you will be in Charlottesville this summer and would like to help, please contact the coordinator about that via email as well.
