The Maxine Platzer Lynn Women’s Center stands with those who are outraged and deeply saddened by the repeated and unnecessary lethal force used by police officers against Black men. This is a national tragedy. It is not new in our history. The call for justice is a call to all of us.

In light of national protests against police killings and the anti-black racism directed towards student demonstrations at U.Va., Black Graduates United invite you to join us for a community discussion. The purpose of the forum is to provide a space for our community to express their concerns and frustrations about injustice and the reactions to it in the U.Va. community. We hope this space has the potential to confront the challenges of organizing and brainstorm some strategies we can all use to bring our communities together to address systemic change.

Again, I hope you will participate in this important conversation and other actions in the days ahead.
