Get to know YWLP Big Sister, Christina Bolil!

What do you miss the most about your hometown when you're at UVA?
I'm from Warrenton, VA which is only an hour and a half north of Charlottesville so I am able to go home often. However, when I'm at UVA, I miss going out to eat at our favorite hometown icecream shop, Effee's. I have grown up going here almost weekly so it is something I cherish when I get to go home during the summer.

Why are you passionate about the Women's Center?
YWLP has helped me learn more about Charlottesville and the people that live here. I have been able to go to many different sites in this city with my little sister. Even more importantly I see young women's lives being positively effected by having role models, new friends, and a safe space to explore and ask questions through YWLP.

What's something you know you do differently than most people?
I usually take two showers a day just because showers are so relaxing to me.

What is your favorite UVA Tradition?
I love singing the Good Ole Song; it always makes me feel like the people at UVA are my family.

If you had access to a time machine, where and when would you go?
I would love to go back in time to when my mom was in high school/ college and see if we really are as similar as everybody says.

What's a fun fact you'd like people to know about you?
Back in high school I had a weekend job where I dressed up as a princess for little girls' birthday parties. It was always so sweet to see how happy the little girls were to be with a "real" princess.
