Get to know YWLP Big Sister, Ramot-Abiola Adeboyejo!

What do you miss the most about your hometown when you're at UVA?
My mother's cooking! She is an amazing cook and I absolutely love Nigerian food. Also I live in Chicago and we're famous for our deep dish pizza. I'm always craving a deep dish slice of sausage, spinach, and pepperoni pizza from Giordano's.

Why are you passionate about the Women's Center?
I love the Women's Center because it is a space where women can creatively discuss and research local and global issues pertaining to women. It's nice to meet brilliant individuals who are passionate about serving the community of women here at UVA and in the Charlottesville area. I really appreciate and value the programs at the Women's Center, especially YWLP.

What's something you know you do differently than most people?
I rarely wear matching socks, but I like it that way.

What is your favorite UVA Tradition?
I absolutely adore Trick or Treating on the Lawn. It's really cool to see parents' creativity and I love watching the little kids run around!

If you had access to a time machine, where and when would you go?
I would like travel back in time to my mother and father's childhood in the early 1970's. I hear so many stories about relatives whom I've never met. I'm sure many people would like to know how their parents really were as children!

What's a fun fact you'd like people to know about you?
I'm Nigerian, but I also have Brazilian heritage in my family.
