1.    What brought you to the Women's Center?

I was given a flyer at the fall activities fair about the Women’s Center, and I think it mentioned something about the internships they offer. I was really interested because I was looking for a way to get involved with something related to my potential career interests. Once I learned about it, I scanned the website and found myself admiring the services they provide.

2.    What other organizations are you involved with at UVA?

I volunteer with Madison House, am a site leader for Alternative Spring Break, and am on the Late Night Committee of UPC.

3.    If you could describe your intern team in 3 words, what would they be?

Creative, Courageous, and Supportive

4.    What is your favorite memory of UVA thus far?

One night with my roommates, we were all sitting in our living room and dreading doing our homework. Somehow, we all agreed that it would be a good idea to learn the Cotton-Eyed Joe. It was late on a Thursday night and we did the Cotton-Eyed Joe for seriously an hour straight in front of our window. That’s a tie, though, with the time my roommates and I drove around aimlessly listening to music and pulled over for an impromptu stargazing session. Ignoring homework seems to be a theme, but we’ll take the memories.

5.    What does leadership mean to you?

To me, leadership means supporting others toward a common effort. Whether it be for tiny tasks or overarching goals, a good leader is kind and supportive while still remaining driven.

6.    What is your guilty pleasure?

Binge-watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is definitely up there on my list of guilty pleasures, as is blasting early 2000’s music while I drive.
