At UVA, I constantly feel like my worth and value is defined by my course load, grades, involvement, and extra curriculars. Even when it isn’t school work, I feel as if I constantly have to be doing something productive. This creates an unsustainable cycle of burnout.

This week, listen to the Food Heaven Episode: Laziness Does not Exist for great information and discussion with Dr. Devon Price around how narratives of the necessity of constant productivity became dominant in society and how they disproportionately harm marginalized populations.

As you listen, reflect on the question, how can loving, caring for, and resting our bodies in times of stress and overwork be an act of resistance against systems of oppression.
