Each spring, we host our Black Womanhood in College Workshop for girls from several area high schools to learn about unique aspects of the Black woman’s experience in higher education. Current UVA students help to make the girls feel welcome and share information with them about the spaces and opportunities available to them. Guest speakers from the Charlottesville community share their own experiences as students at a wide range of colleges and universities and offer guidance to help prepare the girls to pursue their college dreams.
