What brought you to the Women's Center?
I found out about the Women's Center my first year at a resource fair, and I knew it would be a great way to learn more about gender equity and women's history!
What is your favorite memory at UVA so far?
I adopted a Boston Terrier with my roommate, who I've lived with for three years and who is also a senior intern at the Women's Center! Her name is Gerty, and she loves to go for walks on the lawn. She's even met Jim Ryan!
Who is a woman that inspires you and why?
I am a huge fan of Women's Artistic Gymnastics, and I love Simone Biles and her bravery on and off the gym floor. She is no doubt the best in her sport and seems to defy the laws of physics, but she always puts herself and her mental health first and foremost, which is greater than any gold medal.
What is one thing you do after a stressful day?
I listen to music and get a little treat.
How does your work at the Women's Center motivate you?
As I face graduation and law school, I'm more confident in myself as a scholar and a change-maker. My fellow fourth-year interns and I have worked hard for the past few years to leave a legacy at UVA and the Women's Center. I'm so excited to see younger students picking up that legacy and bringing new ideas to our mission of gender equity!
What is a podcast/TV show/movie/book/song that's grabbed your attention recently?
Currently enjoying Ghosts, DWTS, and Agatha All Along as my brain-break TV shows!
