1. What brought you to the Women's Center?

I came to the Women’s Center after the pandemic year we spent online. I was looking to get more involved with the Charlottesville community while working on issues that I care about. I saw how supportive the Women’s Center was and how much everyone seemed to care about their friend’s personal development. It seemed like a great place to be.

2. What is your favorite memory of UVA so far?

This is such a hard question! I’ve had so many great memories — LOTL, decorating my dorm for the holidays, picnics on the lawn, sunset series, concerts at JPJ, snowball fights, hikes around Charlottesville.

3. Who is a woman that inspires you?

I am inspired by my mom. She is so smart and well-balanced. She is always willing to advocate for herself and others. She always encourages me to do my best and is very supportive.

4. What is one thing you do after a stressful day?

At the end of stressful days I always try to make time for myself and see what I need that specific day. Sometimes I want to spend time with my roommates and sometimes I want to sit alone in my room. I’m trying to be better at listening to myself and what I need.

5. How does your work at the Women's Center motivate you?

My work at the Women’s Center motivates me because it makes me feel like I always have an opportunity to learn more about important topics and make a difference in the community.

6. What is a podcast/TV show/book, etc. that's grabbed your attention recently?

I’m currently reading Educated by Tara Westover. It's a memoir about Tara's upbringing in rural Idaho and her path to receiving an education.
