Find a Group

Members of our Counseling & Wellness Services Team at the Women's Center offer support groups in addition to sessions in which they see individual clients. They also share information about groups being offered by colleagues in other offices across Grounds.

Our Fall 2020 Groups 

These groups meet virtually and are open to all UVA students regardless of whether you are living in the Charlottesville community, living somewhere else in Virginia, or living out of state. Please email Cathy Erickson if you are interested in participating. Groups will be filled with interested students on a first come first served basis.

Wellness & Connection in the Time of COVID

These are unprecedented and uncertain times for college students. Just about everything is different and uncertain right now. Academic life has changed…social life has changed…and even strategies for wellness have had to adjust to the COVID "normal."

Come together with other students to talk about what’s hard, what’s different, and what helps. You'll focus on sharing and supporting each other with some discussion of skills and strategies for improving wellness, too.

Fridays, September 18 - November 6, 2 - 3 pm

Sexual Assault Survivors Group

Survivors of sexual assault are invited to join this group for peer support and discussion of skills and strategies that aid in healing from a traumatic event.

Fridays, September 25 - October 30, 11 am - noon

Other Fall 2020 Groups 

CAPS offers groups that focus on well-being, identity, and specific mental health concerns. For Fall 2020, these include:

  • Maintaining Well-Being Group, CSC/CAPS Mindfulness Groups, Interpersonal Process Group: Understanding Self and Others
  • Graduate Student Support Group, LGBTQ+ Support Group, International Student Support Group
  • DBT-Based Skills Group, Bipolar Disorder Support Group, Recovery Support Group for Eating Disorders
