Reading in Hues

Bookshelf

We lend books by women of color, curated for you by our staff and students. Browse the Reading in Hues shelf in our front office to find your next great read.

Not on Grounds? Find titles on our Reading in Hues shelf on our GoodReads list!

Book Club

During the academic year, you'll also find monthly Reading in Hues Book Club events on our calendar. The book club offers opportunities to receive free books as well as joining the group's discussions and connecting with other readers. Authors even join the club's discussions for some of the books! Check our calendar for meeting dates and titles in our Reading in Hues Book Club series. The club meets monthly during the academic year to celebrate and discuss literature by women and non-binary authors of color. Students are invited to pick and choose which books to read and meetings to attend. Each month, the first five people to sign up receive a free copy of that month's book!

Conference Room Library

The collection of books we offer in our upstairs conference room and library focuses on a few types of relevant books that relate especially well to our efforts to promote self-care, to provide engaged scholarship opportunities, and to celebrate trailblazing women:

  • Literature - novels, poetry and plays to help you recharge or relax
  • Feminist theory volumes and foundational texts in gender studies
  • Books about Inspiring Women - biographies and other books that celebrate women's achievements
