Each year the Maxine Platzer Lynn Women's Center hosts a Black Womanhood in College Workshop (BWCW) for high school girls who identify as Black/African American/African. This is a day-long workshop that covers a variety of aspects that relate to the Black college experience including: services available, sorority life, financial aid, extra-curricular activities, sports, retention and much more. Participants will engage with current UVA students and hear from speakers including UVA Athletic Director Carla Williams.
