Our Body Positive Team shared how they like to practice self-care and positive body image during Spring Break!
Lauren Wisniewski
"During spring break, I try to be more intentional with social media use and surrounding myself with people who make me feel supported."
Ava Canfield
"My body is destined to change throughout the rest of my life, and it is not something I have full control over. What I can control, however, is how I choose to live each moment despite that. In general, but especially when I get the opportunity to travel, I try to stay present and focus on how my body enables me to do the things that matter the most to me, like spending time with loved ones and exploring new places!"
Bibby Kittrell
"My favorite way to take care of myself over spring break is to turn off my alarm and allow my body to get the proper sleep that it needs. I know that the semester can often feel draining and leave me lacking sleep, so when I get the opportunity, I love to just listen to my body and rest."
Jackie Bond
"Spring break is for taking time for yourself and getting away from the pressures of school. I like to do a puzzle and watch sitcoms when I get stressed—it's my own form of self-care. Do what brings you joy and make self-care night every night this break!"
Subhi Saibaba
"During spring break, I take care of myself by catching up with my hometown friends. We love to cook our favorite meals together, and it's a great way to practice intuitive eating and combat diet culture."
Haley Johnston
"I try to be really intentional about how I spend my time by deleting social media for the week and staying away from screens as much as possible. This forces me to occupy my time by being creative, going outside, and spending time face-to-face with the people I love."
