The Room to Breathe
Practice Self-care in the Room to Breathe
Stress creeps in more often than we'd like. Sometimes it comes from what's expected of us in school or work. Sometimes it comes from things going on in your personal life. Sometimes you can't even really nail down where the stress is coming from. You just know it's there. Wherever the stress is coming from, sometimes you just need a place to go to get away, even if only for a short time.
Where can you actually find a place on Grounds to sit quietly, have a moment to yourself undisturbed, and put tending to your wellness at the top of your list of things to do?
The Women’s Center has what you’re looking for. Thanks to a generous donation from the UVA Women’s Club, the Women’s Center was able to create the “Room to Breathe.” This room, prepped with a stress-relieving finger labyrinth, white noise machine, books, and chocolate, is a resource for the UVA community to utilize whenever they need that moment of privacy, safety, and quiet.
There's no need to make an appointment. Just come in when you need it during business hours, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
