1.    What brought you to the Women's Center?

My first-year RA inspired me to apply to the Women's Center because she would always tell me about the amazing opportunities she had while being an intern. The women's Center is more than just a program, it's a family of incredible women who motivate and inspire each other to be the best versions of ourselves.

1.    What brought you to the Women's Center?

I was attracted to the welcoming environment full of diverse women who I knew I'd be able to depend on and learn from.

2.    What is your favorite memory of UVA thus far?

My favorite memories at UVA have all been nights I've spent kicking it at my crib with my friends and us just enjoying each other's company.

As the Body Positive team settles into our new routine of virtual weekly meetings, we have been working hard to revamp our programing to make it online friendly and welcome more voices to the table. One of the coolest things (in my opinion) about our program is that we offer a two-session group-based intervention called the Body Project to female identifying women at UVA.

I stare at the reminder on my calendar: draft due to Leigh Ann, and the only words that come to mind are “I have no more words.” It’s time to write my next column. But it’s also time to pause and absorb the fact that we are six months into living remotely in an effort to contain a global pandemic, and over 200,000 of my fellow citizens have died in those six months.

It has been a long six months.

There is a very good reason I feel like I have no more words – an intertwined set of very good reasons, actually.
